Studio Bradaschia is located in Trieste, in Italy and is coordinated by Maurizio Bradaschia (Trieste 1962). The architect belongs to that generation of planners who, completed the generation of the Masters, has started to "construct" again. He makes the building site his daily life and tries to plan and construct with quality and the utmost attention to the context and, likewise, to the contemporary project. The faced themes are manifold and include other than the planning experimentation from large to small scale: from landscape planning (the recoveries of the quarries are exemplar), to territorial plans, city plans, working plans, from big projects to architectural objects on a building scale, a cultural research and promotion activity on architecture and art. In 1997 Maurizio Bradaschia, with Livio Sacchi and Maurizio Unali, founds the international magazine Il Progetto, three-monthly magazine of Architecture, Art, Communication and Design, which he has been running ever since. From 1987 he started his professional activity, an activity mainly aimed at the public sector. Among his main projects: the rearrangement of Piazza A. Hortis and Piazza Venezia in Trieste (1991-96); the Recovery Plans of Via Peschiera and Piazza della Valle for the Historic Centre of Trieste (1991-92); the City Plan of the Town Hall of Caneva (in the province of Pordenone) (1996-97); the participation at the Interreg II Vision Planet project, for the European spatial integration; the rearrangement of the international Rabuiese border crossing between Italy and Slovenia (2001); the Detailed Regional Territorial Plan of the stretch of coast between Trieste and Muggia which includes the territories of the Town Halls of Duino Aurisina, Trieste and Muggia; the extension of the Town Council of Sgonico (in the province of Trieste) (1997-2003); the new cemetery of Staranzano (in the province of Gorizia) (1997); the execution of the project for the re-use of the former Sporting Residence to administrative Seat for the Town Hall of Rome and, for the Town Hall of Trieste, the Carabinieri station of Muggia (in the province of Trieste), the recovery of two buildings in the EU Tergeste programme, Urban PIC ITALIA; the Variance Town Zoning of Trieste for the area of Porto Vecchio (2003-04), the "Strategic Plan" for the city of Trieste (2003-04), Triestexpo Master Plan 2008 (2003-04). And still, the new seat for the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of Trieste, the Audi-Porsche-Volkswagen centre of Trieste, the Green Area with attached car park at Palazzolo dello Stella (in the province of Udine), the project for the upgrading of Piazza S. Antonio in Trieste, the recovery of the Gasometer of Broletto, the Service Centre for Trieste Trasporti Spa, Piazza Falloni in Monteiasi (in the province of Taranto), Centro Visite (Visiting Centre) for Monti Picentini in Eboli, the Hotel in Barcola, on the waterfront of Trieste. From 1992 the Studio has been involved in a constant international cooperation activity by means of the programmes of the European Union and the United Nations. In particular themes related to the Settlement Upgrading for the city of Ibadan, in Nigeria, have been faced within the United Nations Centre for Human Settlements - Habitat (UNCHS) programme and the European spatial integration with Vision Planet and Estia programmes and TEM (Trans European Motorway) project. His participation in competitions is frequent. It is intended as a moment of experimentation, as is their organization: this is the case of the drafting of the documentation of the call for a bid for the planning of a carriageable bridge on the Tiber on Viale Oceano Pacifico/Autostrada Roma Fiumicino on behalf of the Town Council of Rome (1999-2000). But also the participation at Committees of Competition and Juries: the Competition for the Recovery of the Area-ex Vigili del Fuoco-Largo Niccolini in Trieste, announced by IACP (Institute for Low-Rent Housing) of Trieste in 1997, the Ideas Competition for the upgrading of Piazza Libertà in Turriaco ( in the province of Gorizia) 1998-1999, the planning Competition for the construction of a daytime multi-functional centre for the assistance to people suffering from senile dementia with particular reference to the Alzheimer disease in the Ralli small building in the Ex OPP (ex Provincial Psychiatric Hospital) area in Trieste, June 2003, the "Two Planning Competitions in the City of Chiari [in the province of Brescia] relative to the recovery of the Ex Cinema Teatro area and neighbouring areas, and the recovery of three buildings under the Town Council's property in the antique centre with the construction of a museum of the city and arrangement of Piazza Zanardelli", the "International Planning Competition for Teatro Cittadino di Verbania", 2007.
