Each member of the family is interviewed to extract their tastes, dreams and wishes. Another important point is the abstraction of the most significant elements of the environment itself such as the breeze, the trees, the shadow, the view of the waves, the time between waves, etc. All this accumulation of thoughts and physical elements determine the concept that will give life to a space to connect with the soul and spirit, of course, without ceasing to dialogue with the environment. The project was done in collaboration between Cincopatasalgato, led by José Roberto Paredes, and Pepe Cabrera Homes, directed by Paula Cabrera Gil; two architecture studios sharing the same motto of using the architecture to create connections between people and always in the active search of the client’s emotions, feelings and stories.

We were inspired by the fenced paths to the beach, as the land had a natural flow of water, air shaped by the trees, cars and people walking along it. We wanted the construction to provide privacy to that refuge of the soul, but we also wanted to invite people, visitors and friends. It was decided to divide the construction into two long strips that are generated by the sinuous shapes of the natural flow of water. Later, the spaces are separated into pavilions to open up the views and bring in the sea breeze.

The straight lines of the boundaries were maintained. In the middle, the natural path, the trees and the flow of water, shaped the house, opening where the ceiba is and where the water is concentrated, to create an introverted space of reconnection, an idyllic private living area for the enjoy the family. If we continue the flow we come across the sea, creating a much more public meeting point to connect with friends or the community. Each pavilion was designed to fulfill the dreams of each family member.

The house is an eclecticism of dreams combining the tropical architecture.
