The project consists of a 3,500 seat open air summer amphitheatre with a lawn for 5,500 people for a total capacity of 9,000. Designed by Paul Laurendeau Architect, the project is the result of an open anonymous competition launched in October 2010 and won in April 2011. The project was executed in joint venture with local architect François Beauchesne. The building opened with a Cirque du Soleil show on 15 July 2015. The main feature is the 80 x 90 meter roof resting on 8 slender 850 mm diameter steel columns.
