More than infrastructure, it is a living canvas of movement, culture, and connection. The project unfolds in three interwoven layers: (1) An Urban Plaza in the Old Town, home to an art center and seasonal events. (2) A Pedestrian and Bike Walkway, flowing through the cityscape and culminating in a footbridge that spans an arterial road, seamlessly knitting together the once-divided urban fabric. (3) The Waterfront, a public space vibrant with anchor nodes such as an amphitheater, playgrounds, and scenic walkways spread across the landscape.

Each element is choreographed to guide movement, frame views, and celebrate culture. The pedestrian bridge visually and physically draws people into the city’s core, revealing a gem that’s embedded within the gridded urban fabric of the old town. The art center and its canopy become a sculptural landmark, projecting local identity by casting intricate shadows that shift with the passing day. The art center functions as an incubator that nurtures creativity, spilling its influence onto the landscape, and making artistic expression an everyday experience.

The project transforms a deteriorating town into an active public realm, it fosters social inclusion, economic vitality, and environmental consciousness. It encourages healthier, more interactive urban living, and redefines urban sustainability in a myriad of ways. Project Architect: MLA+ in collaboration with Bina Engineering
