The Masonic Temple in Glendale was underutilized for decades before this extensive historical repositioning transformed the building into a next-generation creative office. According to Caruso Affiliated’s vision, Gensler preserved the bones of the eight-story Art Deco structure while creating a timeless balance between the modern and historical. The Masonic Temple is an adaptive reuse renovation including a complete seismic analysis and upgrade of the existing concrete encased steel and board formed concrete walls to accommodate large glazing fenestrations on the North, South and East facades.
