Comprehensive Development of Central Area at Xiamen New Airport

This project locates very close to Xiamen new airport, surrounded by 3 airport terminals. Our design proposal, the Comprehensive Development of Central Area at Xiamen New Airport, is to create an airport-based complex that providing both convenient traffic transfer and respecting Xiamen traditional lifestyle, with the guide of architectural design, cooperation of transportation planning and the overall consideration including functional programming, vertical design, municipal facilities and transportation system. Base on convenient traffic transfer and also inspired by influential entertainment and exhibition industries, the complex concludes a variety of commercial with differentiated scale and experience, sky garden, office and boutique hotel with plane taking off and landing view. Inspired by Xiamen traditional roof form, ocean wave and egrets spreading the wings, this project presents unique and modest architectural form, corresponds to the architectural form of existing terminal, satisfies the sight requirement of control tower, and most importantly, showing up its special features and characters of the complex.
