The designers used the architectural experience of the courtyard and arcade to integrate the spatial relationship with the color matching of the local culture. The first floor of the building is a cafe for external business, the main wall extends up the complete façade, with the manhole ladder shaped like a split rock block, and the bar work area all use red sandstone axis to create a visual feast, compared with other neutral and low-color environment in the room, the warm color and rich texture of the material are heavily imprinted with visual memory. As a specialty of Lingnan, red sandstone is an important component of traditional architecture in Guangzhou. Following this cultural clue, the designer selected the red cave stone in the Middle East, on the one hand, to reproduce the red sandstone’s color and natural texture, narrating the value of time's precipitation. On the other hand, cross-regional materials also echo Guangzhou's compatible, open and pluralistic urban history and tradition. The semi-independent tea room on the second floor of the building is slightly higher than the ground in structure, emphasizing independence, and surrounded by tawny glass gauze to separate the sight. Based on the concept of the Oriental tea mat, the filter effect that changes the light tone is integrated into the beauty of European stained glass. In the project's design process, the space function and relationship are constructed by using the color of the material, and the color is the link to connect the traditional culture and the modern aesthetic.
