The project becomes part of a functioning system in the Dommel valley, flowing from the river through a tree-rich zone and extending into a park-like environment – the Dommel Park – a climate buffer for the Dommel and accessible to users. The urban elements of Domein aan de Dommel are designed to honor the historical values of the site while also accommodating modern additions. The main building, an iconic monument, is revitalized and serves as the heart of the Kentalis community, where old and new merge.

The concept of this new residential community forms the basis for a new, inclusive, and diverse society. Here, people live, care for one another, learn, work, recreate, and play. From the impressive main building to the serene meander homes, each element is designed with respect for the existing landscape, combined with the needs of current and future residents. The design includes a network of functional and well-designed paths and routes, with special attention given to slower traffic participants.

Buffer zones play a key role in protecting privacy and fostering interaction between the various users of the site. Domein aan de Dommel will offer a unique living environment, enriched with spaces for recreation and leisure, while fostering a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.
