Björn Ericsson is like a brother, if an office can have a brother. He doesn't work here but is always around in some way or another. At our first party he served hot dogs from a cargo bike. Always helpful, always with a charming smile. When he needed more space for guests at his summer home we were happy to help. It started as a simple principle with an enfilade of rooms under a roof covered with solar panels. Each room connects with the next but also has its own exit to the garden. All rooms (except the sauna) are equal in size and have the same glass sliding doors from wall to wall, even the storage room.
Nothing fundamental changed during the process. Things just got added to make the basic principle more interesting. A round window towards the back. A washstand with integrated mini bar in each bedroom. Rounded doors making the view through the house more poetic. A small cup integrated in the walls to accommodate the door handles when open. Round glass blocks in the gable. Horizontal "wardrobes" under the windows in the back of the rooms... Small stuff, but every detail got the same amount of attention.
Even so, the house is essentially built from two drawings (with a few additional phone calls and sketches shared with the builder during the process). We like to think that those involved had fun. We could even go so far as to say that it shows in the result.
