Development policies have dramatically changed Tehran's face from the 1990's decade. Due to the considerable economic profits and inappropriate policies of the municipality, contemporary homes and villas in narrow alleys have been rapidly substituted by oversized condos. This results in lack of residents' privacy; therefore, many of them choose an introverted lifestyle. At the same time, the view to the outside is almost blocked by huge buildings in the dense context. Tehran used to be famous for picturesque views to Alborz mountains; however, it is hard to see them among the crowd of buildings.
The idea of the designers is to improve the outlook of the building both for its residents and observers. To approach this idea, semi-open areas are added in front of the building on each floor. They are considered as "Green Yards" which are connected with bridges to the indoor part of the condo. This area is surrounded with plants as a barrier between inside and outside of the condo. So, the "green buffer" creates an alive and unique façade, while it provides a private space for the inhabitants. Plants and water features around the sitting area creates a calm and desirable area in the crowded neighborhoods.
It is also possible to have a panoramic view at the edge of these "Green yards". Moreover, it reminds the typical and historic Persian houses in which the living spaces encircle a courtyard: Introverted, duplicatable and independent. The template is duplicatable, as it may be scaled in dimensions to be applied in many compact residential zones. Besides, it is independent, because it prepares a scenic sight for indoors spaces as well as an outdoor private micro-climate.
