Greenwich St Jewelers – 93 Reade Street

Located at 93 Reade Street, in one of the oldest cast iron buildings in NYC, the new Greenwich St. Jewelers flagship propels forward the brand & family heritage while honoring this historic New York industrial district via forms, materials, finishes. The procession through the space mimics a chic railroad loft apartment where white and gold plastered arches and a custom subway grate lime plaster feature wall pull visitors from the foyer, through the living room, dining room, and finally the bridal salon. In the grand bridal salon resides the "terrace" which welcomes VIP clients with custom arched metal and glass doors along with a faux skylight, mimicking the surrounding Soho sky-lit rear gardens/lightwells. From exposed original brick and reclaimed wood floors; to bold lacquered millwork, concrete, subway grates, custom murals, custom artwork, and bright furnishings; the interior of the store is filled with a meticulously curated array of forms and materials that marry the old and the new, the refined and the raw. A secret surprise awaits in the private restroom where one is immersed in a room full of tropical foliage tiles. This jewelry boutique was to be a luxury shop, sans pretension, and is an ode or love letter to NY, the former industrial neighborhood, and the future success of G.ST.
