The new two-story library replaced a previous one-story facility at twice the size on a smaller footprint. The library includes adult, teen, and children's reading areas, homework center, group study rooms, a 100-seat community meeting room, and more. Designed and built with LEED GOLD certification, the exterior envelope features a double glass wall separated by an air space that functions as insulation and return air plenum for the mechanical systems. The glass transparency also allows for sweeping views of the surrounding Santa Monica Bay and Pacific Ocean.
