"Photography has become the lens through which we observe and analyze the evolution of architecture'. The positive aspect of this reality is that architects and the public around the world can participate in this educational process, on the other hand, the negative aspect is the trap of images dominating over it's core purpose: the actual experiencing of architecture. My work aims to inspire people to not only view architecture as a two dimentional image representation but to motivate them to experience it comprehensively.
Long exposure photography and a fine art approach makes people slow down, observe buildings closer, do research and field survey, revisit locations under different light and weather conditions, and by doing so enriching their understanding and awareness of the built environment. This collection is part of an integral photographic vision aiming to combine a respectful representation of exterior realities and a meaningful expression of our interiority. Addressing specifically the judging criteria I would like to add the following thoughts: - Fine art architectural photography places both art and architecture at the center of the subject matter. - Each capture can become a fresh and new look even for famous building that have been photographed extensively and at the same time can elevate and attract interest towards not so famous ones. - Photography is one of the most accessible art forms available and the growing interest in fine art architectural photography from people from all walks of life in every country make this niche rich in potential with multiple applications easily available and accessible."
