The design team combined oriental culture and traditional Japanese architectural elements to create a space with dramatic features. The combination of aluminum and steel frames and original roof trusses, as well as the dark style interior design, creates an atmosphere that blends the old with the new. The overall space is compact, with double-level spaces and private rooms to meet different needs, and a center stage and Rui Bei installation creating a dramatic visual focal point. The design team also reflected innovation in the choice of materials.
Focusing on the relationship between the material itself and human beings, the choice of baffle paper and original wood elements intermingle with the space enclosed by the steel frame, bringing the human distance feeling closer. Compared to traditional concrete materials, the steel structure as the main material has the advantage of being clear and coherent. By highlighting the articulation between the structural components, guests can more intuitively feel the structural expression in the space, which in turn creates a unique atmosphere for NIGIO.
Finally, the project also addresses the challenge of space utilization through high ping layout thinking and the design of the back-word semi-enclosed structure, which meets the demand for private gatherings by cutting the compact restaurant interior into a double-level space and designing the second-floor private rooms around the atrium. This innovative layout distinguishes itself from the design of the first floor, which focuses on the open atmosphere of a traditional izakaya and is also in line with the universalization of commercial space for renovation.
