The renovation from the Power Plant to the community center will provide a positive community public space for surrounding residents and tourists, and activate the vitality of surrounding cities. Taking public space construction and architectural openness as the starting point, the overall design creates interesting connections between the old and new buildings and radiates to activate the vitality of the surrounding communities, setting up a positive and vivid "micro-urban structure" by the continuation of basic elements and active intervention.
It is designed as a north-south dynamic and static partition. The south is a recreation interactive experience area that focuses on outdoor sports, Child-friendly facilities and flea market. The north is a performing arts, cultural and creative area that focuses on multi-media drama, concert, art exhibition and community cultural activities. People can shuttle in the park anytime and feel the whole continuous dynamic space. Inspired by the reserved oil tanks, a towering cylinder (O Space) was placed inside the building as a new spiritual space that dialogues with the oil tanks still standing outside.
It divides the inner space into O-space and POWER Theater, where immersive performances and art exhibitions can be held to create an innovative urban cultural hall, forming a trailblazing theatrical and experiential cluster.
