Embodying the Santa Ynez Valley’s essence, our modern farmhouse melds local heritage with innovative design, ensuring sustainability and honoring the land’s storied past—a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. The stone & exterior materials were sourced from local quarries & installed by stone masons - the palette & mixture of limestone & sandstone were carefully selected to achieve a muted palette that evoked the tonality of the existing landscape. The interior palette echoes the exterior materiality - white oak, limestone flooring & minimal decoration allow for the views to come into focus. Meant to set the tone for future development, the project team looked to the agrarian nature of the Santa Ynez Valley & strove to design something that felt like it belonged within its context.
