Prior to the renovation, residents had already spontaneously attempted to utilizethese under-viaduct spaces as activity venues among communities, where activities such as square dancing, ballroom dancing, choir singing, dragon dancing, and spinning topsreflected the diversity of community life demands and, at the same time, underscored the urgency for corresponding diversified urban public space renewal. Therefore, we aimed to create a multi-functional site space to continue the original activities while incorporating some activity facilities and related amenities that are easy for youngpeople to gather and disperse, such as basketball courts and container-based service facilities.

Additionally, a portion of the space under each viaduct has been designated forelectric vehicle charging stations and parking spots to alleviate parking pressure in the area, generate revenue for the project, and supplement funding issues for public welfareprojects. The design created adaptable urban public spaces under bridges through functional reorganization, extraction of spatial prototypes, rapid prefabricated construction, andenhancement of the landscape environment. It is hoped that in the future, more urban gray spaces can be renewed through this model, transforming them into significant forces thatreplenish and enrich communities and cities.
