The proposal for the new mixed-use building is located within metropolitan park – La Mexicana – to the West of Mexico City, in an area of 49,631 square meters. Currently, Mexico City has a horizontal configuration, where different use buildings are mixed with each other and public green areas without any order. What this project proposes is to change this old horizontal approach to a vertical community by distributing amenities and public spaces in different levels creating this way an effective circulation loop and maximizing green areas for the residents. Based on the analysis of the site, the buildings were placed in a triangle creating three main nodes for the towers, enhancing views towards the park for each one of them, and an atrium which acts as a central plaza for the access and amenities in the ground floor. Each tower is comprised of different type of apartments seeking to meet the needs of different users. The dwellings of the first group range from 180m2 to 215m2, second 310m2 to 320m2 and the biggest one from 380m2 to 430m2, as single floor apartments and townhouses. With an idea to have a free ground floor and atrium, as an extension of the park, all the amenities for the residents are elevated to different levels and located in the bridges that connect the towers enclosing the triangle. This way, sport, cultural and gastronomic activities unite different towers creating a continuous flow and transforming a neighborhood of all the inhabitants into a vertical community. This connecting flow also generates the use of green areas at different heights, while the podium on the ground floor acts as a central park with different outdoor activities for the residents. As a result, the project proposes a vertical community merging different users and connecting experiences between each of its components.
