The project nestles near Tangxun Lake and stretched lake view to extremes by expanding its Zig Zag shaped volume along the lakeshore. It is wrapped with black aluminum mesh to jump out of the surroundings when viewed from above, which highlights its recognizable identity in the urban interface. The elevated volume frees the ground space as the civic public space and explores the lake view, which enhances the visual connection and functional links between the site and the surrounds. Furthermore, the interior office is visually and physically connected with the lake by the expansive interlayer terrace, an interactive space for employees and visitors to relax, as well as providing the platforms for relaxing moments and public events.

It enables the sightseeing routes lead to the trees by the lakeshore. The design of sharing space blurs the boundary between the man-made and nature and re-defines working patterns in the office. Although the design process including phase of construction lasted for 7 years, which sparked a serious of adjustments in client’s marketing strategy. Owing to the adaptable continuous design principle, GN DESIGN proposes a tactical and flexible solution to meet the rapid changes of urban functions and relevant demands that coming with it when current spatial functions have already lagged behind the future growth in the demand.
