The Arc at Green School Bali redefines sustainable architecture, showcasing the potential of bamboo in large-scale structures. As the largest assembly space on campus, The Arc serves as a gymnasium and a community gathering space, embodying Green School’s vision for innovation and ecological stewardship. Ibuku, in collaboration with bamboo master builder Jörg Stamm and structural engineer Neil Thomas of Atelier One, sought a design solution that was both functional and transformative. The result is a structure that draws inspiration from nature and biomimicry, echoing the form of a human ribcage.
