A hotel plan in which part of the facilities will preserve and utilize a "Kyomachiya", or Kyoto merchant's townhouse, constructed in 1899 in Gion Festival's Yamabokocho, where Kyoto's history and culture live on. The preservation/restoration and maintenance of Kyomachiya is difficult and many were torn down, but their appearance symbolizes the accumulated history of the city and the finishing touches and sense of space created using traditional construction methods is a culture that should be passed down.
