Weldon Library Revitalization

This project marks the first phase of the transformation of Western University’s D.B. Weldon Library, a brutalist icon by John Andrews (1968). The project revitalizes Andrews’ brutalist vision while supporting a modern academic experience for students, staff, and visitors. A new, dynamic, and daylit Learning Commons reconnects the Great Hall to the previously enclosed mezzanine. Spaces for studying, socializing, and connecting with the community, enriched with integrated exhibition and display areas, support 21st-century learning.
