Dispensing with programmatic specificity of the house in favor of spatial forms that can be occupied with changing uses, Zoid House resets the relationship between the house, site, light and views and the relationship between interior and exterior space. There is no front door or back door, no formal entry. Rather the house is conceived as a series of rooms that can be accessed directly from the outside. The house also has no windows, only doors. In Zoid House, the shapes of spaces, orientation and openness or closeness to light is determined by access to the sun, orientation toward views and relationships to a series of campsite elements that preexisted the design of the house over specific domestic programs.
